From Facebook.....
We are all praying for Jay Leno to have a full and speedy recovery from his accident last Sunday. It is reported that Jay was working on his 1909 White Steam car when he was hurt by fire in an accident. Although the car is green in my 10 year old photos, I believe it has been recently restored in Red.
In 2012 I was fortunate to spend the day with Jay Leno along with my writing partner Richard Truesdell when we took a ride around Burbank in this very car. I took pictures of Jay initiating the steam process by lighting the pilot light for the gas ignition. You can see Jay is lighting the flame through the tire in the third photo.
At that time, he explained that he was lighting Gasoline and it was one of the dangerous procedures associated with early Steam engine vehicles.
