This Nova is said to have a BV 4:10 rear and most of the Yenko ads for the 427 Nova specify 4:10 gears.
This is something I was always curious about because the 1969 SS396 Nova power team chart does not list the 4:10 gear. 1969 Camaro and Chevelle SS396 power team chart does list the 4:10 gear but not SS 396 Nova With all the COPO and special orders that Yenko was able to get, I would think he could have got a COPO to get the 1969 Nova SS396 BV 4:10 rear. He may have got the BV but I have not seen anything on it. Would need to find a POP or paperwork from one of the 427 Novas that shows a BV. Some of the Yenko sold 1969 SS396 Novas have 3:55 gears. Where is 'Yenko Deuce Registry' when you need him?
I believe 'Warren' added the Yenko badges to the Nutmeg Firemist Cadillac Color Nova, when he converted it. I don't recall ever seeing a non converted non race car having Yenko crest emblems installed at the dealership? The picture of the Viking Camaro and Nova appear to me to be a similar color and this color appears to be more Dusk Blue than the subject car which is Lemans Blue. The white stripes and overhead light reflections brighten up the color, but it still looks darker than Lemans Blue? |

The Lemans Blue question is a tough one....just from my own personal experience photographing my car, it can go from looking Glacier Blue to Dusk Blue depending on the lighting. Generally, inside my garage it always leans to the darker side of Lemans Blue, i.e. more Dusk Blue.
On the special paint Nova mentioned in this thread.....would Yenko have ordered a special paint car for conversion? Or are we assuming that a customer ordered a car for conversion and asked for the special paint?

Yes. The car is 100% an SYC. The current owner was getting married the week he put the car up on Facebook and hadn't had a chance to dig into it. This confirms it had stripes and in my opinion, puts to rest any claims that it's not the car in the photo.

Amazing! Who would have thought 53 years ago that a car like this would be discovered and cause so much excitement. How did a car like this stay underground for so long? I thought all the Yenko VIN's were title searched and scooped up by those in the know years ago? Can't wait to see what else comes out of the woodwork over the next 5-10 years as long term owners pass them on to friends and family when they're ready.

Either way, the car was unregistered for longer than Wisconsin keeps records so it would have been impossible to find. The only way to find it would have been to follow the breadcrumbs from new. |
