Guy Lafleur
We are losing our hockey legends weekly now. When he touched the puck you knew something was about to happen. Godspeed Flower.

Seen him in PEI as an 11 year old kid in 1970. He was the star , playing for the Quebec Ramparts against the PEI Islanders in Major JR A Hockey Playoffs at the time …..
209 points in 62 games …. And 130 goals…. Omen of things to come for sure! Was a blast to watch every time he stepped on the ice!

Not sure how he rates such treatment after death - but this IS Quebec where almost everything seems to be or at least - gets 'overblown'.. Public obviously seems to have forgotten his 'fall from Grace' a few years back when he was charged with Perjury for lying about his son's whereabouts when the police charged the boy for sexual assault on a minor, and senior just about landed in jail for hiding him from the police, lying to them about his whereabouts, and later giving him an alibi which proved to be false. Seems his name and hockey notoriety saved him then.. Guess PQ just loves them their Sports Heros regardless of what happens 'off of the ice'.. Last edited by realzed; 05-03-2022 at 01:09 PM. |
