The thinking was that the code marked on the fender extensions correlated to the code in box #103 FENDER PIERCING on the BBC. Thus far, not borne out. BBC copy for a Norwood Z/28-RS box #103 is marked YB.. Box #104 EMB. is marked G. Another Z/28 is YA G.

We would need many Z/28 BBCs to sort this out. Not going to happen.

From original cars the commonly seen convention for fender extension chalk markings is:

G: Z28 non Style Trim
GM: Z28 w/ Style Trim
RG or GR: Z28 w/Rally Sport
427: Copo non Style Trim
427M: Copo w/Style Trim
6R: 396 w/Rally Sport

It mostly makes sense.
G is the emblem code for Z28.
R is RS.
6 is 396. (wonder if that's actually an E)
427 = no holes.
