I know this is probably a completely futile effort, but it's worth taking one shot at least!

I am trying to track down the original engine (or block) out of a 67 Chevelle L78. Engine was pulled in the early 70's for a spun bearing, and replaced with a complete engine from another car. Then the L78 engine was later rebuilt and put into a 66 Chevelle. The 66 Chevelle was then sold from the Marietta OH area to someone in or near Fairmont WV (near Eldora drag strip). Unfortunately I don't have a name, or a VIN, or even the color of the car. Memories fade after 50 years ... Anybody around the Eldora area recall a 66 running around with a complete 67 375 engine in it? It was the entire engine, intake to pan, WP to bellhousing. Needle in a haystack, but who knows, maybe it's sitting in someone's neighbor's garage! Thanks -
