I've talked to a few original buyers who told me,back then they requested a certain brand of tire on their newly ordered vehicle.
5 different brands of tires were possible for a 1970 Chevelle Super Sport. For the most part,Salesmen told everyone they couldn't control what brand the vehicle would receive,but I imagine if a Buyer was adamant,a notation like that would be made somewhere in hopes of getting it. Especially if some extra money changed hands.

A fellow enthusiast once told me "Green is the kiss of death" when trying to sell a muscle car. I like green myself but have learned he may be right.
