I removed the pad pic as the car is for sale and the owner insists that the motor is original. I don’t want to be dragged into any drama. 70 LT-1 Corvette for those interested...

If I recall the picture posted and if my eyes aren't as bad as what I sometimes discover - the new decking marks look like they end before the actual date and application stamp starts.

My take is that 'yes' the block has been resurfaced somewhat - but it looks like the only stamped characters that were removed by it possibly were the Vin and not the application and dates.. |

Sorry I had to take the pic down. I feel bad for the guy. He Bought the car and afterwards paid an NCRS judge to appraise the car. The appraisal states....”this car falls into the numbers matching category for engine, transmission and rear axle”. The fact that he never said original caught my eye. The pad pic clearly shows circular machine marks and the car has no docs to confirm that it is an LT-1. So now the seller is pissed off at me somehow?

The seller being pissed off would be irrelevant to me. It's re-stamped to be matching numbers but not original to the car. Facts are facts or at least they use to be......
