My Dad was around this weekend, so I put him to work for a little bit. Shocking what he'll do from some free beer! We snatched the motor out so I can get cooking. Hard to believe he and I have been doing this for over 40 years.

Started busting the motor down today and getting ready for the machine shop. The bores measure out at .030 over and still appear to have a good cross hatch. Dummy me neglected to take a pic or two of the bores........

yuck........

Not surprised how this looks

This wouldn't bother me if it was on cylinder 6, not #8

Nice original F.I. exhaust manifolds

Now, climb the mountain of parts to clean........

Taking down to the machine shop towards the end of the month. It will get whatever it needs. We'll see if the bores will take just a hone, or will need to be opened up to .040 or .060. The recipe I use on these F.I. engines is 10.0 compression, LT-1 cam, really good valve job, and careful machine work. If the F.I. unit is done by the time the engine is done, We'll dyno it with the F.I. unit (or at least that is the plan).

I sent the F.I. unit out to a fellow by the name of Ken Hansen in TN. He hot tests, dyno's, and road tests the units on a mule car. Everything is set up for monitoring A/F ratio's on the car.

I've ridden my sled once this year for not even 5 miles. Not much snow (at least for me). Normally.......Dad, Tracey and I would have been out on the sleds this time of year. Now we are just relegated to beers and BS.
