OK. Here's a question. I know it's something most of you would never encounter but at 157,000 miles, this car still has about 90% of it's original exhaust system. The muffler was change some years back with a NOS GM muffler. The system is still solid as it can be moved around the shop in one piece. I would like to continue using it but would like to clean it up.....maybe. Now the question. What would you do to save & reuse this system? Thank you, Joe

Did some cleaning on the tail pipes today after moving the car to another bay. Cleaned up pretty good for being 51 years old & 157k miles. I'll clean some more tomorrow. Found numbers on the LH tail pipe in 2 different location. There's one on the RH but I'll have to wait till I turn it over. Interesting how the RH was 2 piece & the LH was 1 piece.....Joe

I used a wire wheel on the parts that aren't shinny. Then a scotch bright. Not sure what I want to do with the rest of the system yet....Joe

Try 000 steel wool on the shiny parts, sometimes a little WD-40 helps speed up the process.
