GM Crate Motor
I'm looking at buying a new GM crate motor and I found one on eBay for the best price, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it's less expensive to go to a dealer or if there is another place to buy one that is better? Have never done this before, thanks.

I have bought several from Jegs and Summit. The dealerships were always more money. Brad

Go to the local dealer and kindly explain that if they can match price of others you will gladly buy from them.

----And,,,It's possible that you won't have to pay shipping that way as well. You are also making a local business money! Warrantee issues are also possibly simpler if there is a problem......Bill S

I've always thought that there should be a blower motor in my Camaro since I first saw it as a kid and now that the little 302 is blown up, I want to do it. Plus, I just got displaced in my job after 15 years and got a severance package that is decent so while I look for a new job (and deal with some health issues), I want to do it. I did some research on how to do a reasonably priced engine with a roots-type blower and found an article on superchevy.com that's exactly what I was looking to do. I don't plan on racing it, just driving it to shows and cruises with my kid so this fit the bill exactly.

find the biggest volume dealership in your area..one that does lots of parts sales..they can and will deal a little, because they move so much product..at least thats how it works around here
do you have a buddy in mechanic shop or bodyshop? they get a good discount..all the shops ive ever worked at let us have it for cost, as long as it was on a cash ticket
