1971 Cuda Convertible 440+6 4 speed (a real one)
They only made 5 four speeds. This gold one and my old orange one were the only original shaker 4 speed cars.
After perusing the listing and seeing the last photo, I saw that he owns my old 440+6 four speed ragtop as well! Small world. I always wondered where it ended up after I sold it in 1986. He has quite the collection of Mopars. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1971-Plymou...YAAOSw39Be-zmg Last edited by njsteve; 07-01-2020 at 10:44 PM. |

1.5 million. The recent similar sale of a 440+6 1971 Cuda ragtop was coincidentally another old car of mine that I sold to the late Steve Juliano in 1988. It was one of the 12 automatics with 19,000 miles on it. Similar amazing restoration. It sold for $1.155,000 last year and is up for auction again at Mecum next week. (actually it's listed in their boutique section and not going over the block).
2019 https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0519-37...a-convertible/ 2020 https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0520-41...a-convertible/ The other funny thing is that there are two other 1971 Cuda 440+6 ragtops up for auction at Mecum next week - a Curious Yellow auto (restored) and a Hemi Orange auto (unrestored) Both had shaker hoods and billboards added after the fact. https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0520-41...a-convertible/ https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0520-41...a-convertible/ Last edited by njsteve; 07-01-2020 at 11:25 PM. |

Reminds me of the 1971 Barracuda GY8 Gold, white/blk interior convertible 318 3-spd that I chased in the late 80's that was located on Klenk Island in Detroit. Cranky original owner and car was all original, when I was finally able to check it out and buy it... ..........if you opened a door you needed a floor jack to jack the car back up to get the door to close, I passed on it.

Gold car on ebay sold at Mecum Glendale last year for somewhere in the High 700k range. Sold in the "bid goes on"
https://www.mecum.com/lots/AZ0319-36...a-convertible/ For the extremely low production number of 71' Six Pack converts its amazing to see 5 for sale right now. Thats almost 1/3 of the production currently for sale.
