The Crusty Cuda: Whole lotta Shakin' (N96) Goin' on!

Hmmm, ya know, Mark? That’s a good idea. I do have a channel but have been keeping all the videos private since they are of my parents house being built and not anything of interest to anyone but them. I should do some for the Cuda and 507 for sure!

Problem is I’m not overly video-tech-editing savvy. Would love to take several then crop them together but that’s way above my paygrade. Does YouTube help with that and what’s best to use? My phone? Buy a GoPro?

Depending on your computer and how old it is...Windows Movie Maker can help out out...it's easy to use and it's free. Newer computers don't have it...older ones do

Here's a community project for anyone with a decent memory for Chrysler dealers. This is the original dealer sticker on the back of the Cuda, at the bottom. (There is a second sticker that is legible but that was a used car lot in Rhode Island)

The decal appears to have a faint glue residue image of four letters which I think may be "ERIE". When I google ERIE Chrysler Plymouth I get a result of a dealer with that name located on 704 East Perkins Avenue in Sandusky, Ohio from the early 1960's through at least the late 1970s when it was sold to another owner. From a newspaper ad it looks like they were something of a performance dealer since they had Walt Arfon's Green Monster on display on June 22, 1966.

Anyone recall this dealer or any other Erie Chrysler Plymouths out there?

Here's a couple ads from the Sandusky Register. Unfortunately the newspaper archives on the interwebs require an expensive subscription to view the actual page any larger than a thumbnail size.

The dealership name logo in the ads looks similar to my hallucination of what I think is on the decal residue.

As promised, Steve, I used a whole raft o' filters on that rear panel dealership decal pic, and, the more I looked at it, the more it DOES appear to be "ERIE" to me, too! (Post # 316 on p. 32.)

I read the obit of the owner (Robert "Bob Sr." McClain) who opened the dealership in 1964, and, sold it in 1976. It sounds as if he led quite an interesting (and, auto-oriented) life. Here's the link:

I, also, noticed that, in the same newspaper ad which you included in this post, that, in addition to featuring Walt Arfons' Green Monster (appearing at nearby Norwalk Dragway (which became Norwalk Raceway Park, and, is currently, Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park)), that the dealership also sponsored an S/S Plymouth drag car (which looks like it's called "The Big Cat" driven by Tom Evans). Maybe someone remembers that car, and, in turn, remembers something about the dealership.

Hey Bob. The only other remotely related search result for Erie Chrysler Plymouth in Sandusky Ohio, was a newspaper article about their sales manager and another man getting hit by a train and succumbing to their injuries in the early 1970's. I think it was during a test drive? Ugh!
