Well said Joe. The only thing I can add is the 990d will work with points ignition. I
think your valuation is fair if the tach is working. Many are fried internally from being hooked up without the monitor. This is common since the wires coming out of the tach are the common red, black, white, and green found on transistorized tachs that don’t require a sender.
