I was told by Chevy Dealership mechanics that if a customer had trouble shifting the dealer would try adjusting the shifter rods but if they still had trouble shifting the dealer would install a replacement shifter.

There was a service replacement part number that was just the shifter with no rods or other parts.

I had a few of these NOS replacement shifters over the years

If someone had one of these replacement shifters installed , they may not have always got one with the MUNCIE stamp
