1967 Camaro RS headlight motors rebuilt
I have started to rebuild the 1967 only electric headlight door motors using original factory parts. Ideally, if people sent me their headlight motors I will disassemble them and rebuild them, replacing damaged parts. Also have some stock of the heavy washers for the output arm to headlight motor shaft. Cost is $175.00 each plus shipping. Please contact for more information either here or at [email protected]. Thanks
The originals used metal gears and I'm using NOS parts. Last edited by 1crossram; 11-18-2019 at 09:31 PM. |

I thought the factory parts had plastic gears? do you use heavy duty gears and what not?

The gears from the original motors were many and all metal, no plastic. The housings are tough plastic. I pull the motors apart and clean all the gears in an ultrasonic cleaner, then dry each gear by hand. When I get enough parts together to build a gear set I put one together and then concentrate on the small electric motor portion. Thanks for your interest.
