Here's a perfect example of a unique car that can't seem to bring the money.
It's a 72 Shelby De Mexico Mustang. Basically a Shelby for Mexico. Granted the 351 is missing in action and a 302 is in the car now. But how many of these are still around and how many are in US collections? Not many I bet. Even with Shelby passing, this car can't bring 25k (its been up several times). To a Shelby collector that has everything else, you'd think someone would snatch this one up just for the history. ![]() Anyway, just an example of rare is not always in demand. I would imagine that the notchback hurts the value and the unrestored status. But the Shelby heritage should make this a budget bang for the buck entry into the club. I know it's Mexico vs. Canada, but thought this was relevant. /Rich
