Exactly what is a "deuce"?

actually thats wrong.the guys who call newer novas deuces only seem to be on the yenko site.mostly guys that arent old enough to actually have been there.i had a 1970 nova ss in 1970.any nova newer than a 1968 chevy II/nova is a nova.other than the yenko deuce of course.its just guys trying to make there cars sound like something they are not.i can tell you (back in the day)no one called 1969 and up novas deuces.

Not sure how old you are but I grew up in a heavy street scene city. and throughout all my days of street racing in the 70's and early 80's, many referred to Nova's as Deuces. The older guys called them that all the time and I don't think that phrase simply died in 68 when GM badged the cars as Nova's.

Case in point, Yenko badging the Nova as a Deuce.

Well said and true! I had a '66 Chevy II in 1970 and never called it a Deuce.And a 1970 Nova from 2003-2015 and never heard it called a Deuce!
