I ended up buying a HVLP pressure pot to spray it.

come to think of it... A WAGNER Power painter may actually work well due to the way it vibrates/shakes and how it picks up and atomizes the paint...
I am digging out the Power Painter the next one I need to spray... I may be totally off however I believe this may do the trick.

What paint/spatter did you spray out of the HVLP press. pot?

I experimented and after quite a few tries used oil based enamel for dark gray mixed with latex thinned with deionized water. The thickness of the latex will cause either a spatter or strings more like LA assembled Camaros.
Keeping it agitated enough to keep everything in solution was the difficult issue... That's why I was thinking power painter, plus the spatter of the power painter would work well... (I think)
