' Not to be smart but in today's world, Matching #'s means just that and no longer has anything to do w/ Original Engines. Yes, even though the whole #'s match thing began w/ checking engine and other #'s to see if original parts or not, best always consider the above...especially whenever #'s claims are made without specific reference to engine originality. Welcome aboard! ~ Pete .

That B-J auction you posted was 12-1/2 years ago. Was your engine stamped,1363701545019,in that 1970 Chevelle that sold for $39,600.00 back then? |

This engine I have has been lying around for years. It’s a February/70 2 bolt 512 block that someone tried to fake a LS6 out of. The original stamp on the block was T0316CRN and someone stamped a R over the last N and drilled the big holes above the oil filter. It has LS6 pistons, crank, heads, and intake. The bearings in the engine are date coded 7/78 and are 0.010 under. The partial vin on the block is 01545019.

I suppose anything is possible but the engine I have was bought off the guy that owed that car back in 1978. I have the sellers package with 3 previous owners of the car on it. I doubt the car left Ontario then went to Vegas and back to Ontario. It was last registered here in 1984. I was trying to find the car using the partial Vin.
