Best way to find a car with the VIN

You're correct, the internet is far from perfect but certainly better chances finding posted Vins than not.
What's your 'Runner Vin also show us an example of an active link where it's posted?
Whenever searching any Vin, best always try substituting Zeros w/ the letter 'O' also sometimes trying the last six alone helps then add additional digits one by one and/or key words to decrease total results...stir and simmer as required.
