By October we were ready to squeeze in one more exterior project before the colder weather hit.
The plan was to replace a front wall that was mostly glass and 50-60 year old framing a door. We planned to do one side at a time as the two together could not be completed in the time frame we had available. Ordered up the new framing and steel door. ![]() ![]() With a 7:00AM start on Oct 7 we got the glass removed and some of the siding off within an hour. ![]() ![]() Lloyd demonstrates the latest in correct position while preparing to start up the sawsall. Notice the new approach to safety gear compared to a year ago when he would be 8 feet up a ladder, with no safety equipment at all. Thats Lloyds son Rob in the background, master carpenter. ![]() Didn't take long to have everything loosened up for the demolition bin. ![]() Rob and Lloyd were too busy working to take any interim photos but by nightfall, the studs were up and a combination of permanent and temporary sheet was in place to lock up for the night.
