I have a friend who is interested in this car at the upcoming Mecum Kissimmee auction.... https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0118-31...i-road-runner/ Anyone have any knowledge of this car? Any input - good or bad - would be much appreciated. TIA.

I do not know specifics about this Road Runner. But looking at the photos I can tell you a couple of things that come to mind: Hood Pins were never an option on the 1969 Road Runner. Dodge did offer them on 4/7/69 - Chrome hood hold-down pins (code J45) were released for Super Bee, Coronet R/T, and Charger R/T. Hood hinges and front latch were retained. It looks like the Chrome Exhaust Tips are from the Super Bee/Coronet R/T which are square while the Road Runner 's are more oval in shape: Fixing the Exhaust Tips is simple. Fixing the Hood Pins if your friend wants the car to be "factory correct" is another story - as far as cost It appears to be an A34: Super Track Pak which included the Dana 60 with 4.10 gears, sure grip (posi), 7 blade torque drive fan, 26" high performance radiator with shroud and power front disc brakes. As far as the exhaust tips are concerned, you're right, that would be an easy fix. What I want to know: How can any competent restorer make this blunder?? It's a no-brainer as far as I'm concerned. Pete
