Below is the reply I received from Goat Hill...........
" Good afternoon and I am sorry that you were "stunned". A. We simply hand wash ALL Crimped AC Fuel Pump AC housings rather than ANY mechanical or Chemical process that would alter the Original Cast finish. B We assemble ALL crimped Fuel Pumps with the New Canisters that we receive from our USA Vendors. There were and still are various colors of Zinc DeChromate from near clear to a yellowish gold and we have no control over what we receive. Goat Hill Classics I am very disappointed with the cosmetic restoration on my two A/C embossed 426 pumps.......... Clear Zinc is Silver & Yellow Zinc DiChromate is Goldish/Yellow (what a B.S answer) I anticipated that a restoration would include recoloring the body (ala Eric Jackson on Holly Carbs)
