What about the rubber bushings where the shift rods go in how is that redone ? Will the metal ones found in a Pit Pac fit the levers correctly?

Those metal and plastic bushings are for aftermarket shifters with a larger hole.
No one re makes the OEM bonded on seal.
Pete Serio has nice fitting replacement rubbers on his WWW. I think it is presision Pontiac.
