Hi Ryan! Yes, Kandy was sporting the orange houndstooth but I was the one who stayed up for two hours the night before the show dying it. |

I was concerned about the 055 date on the trim tag when we went up to look at the car but found out it was a known error from the Team Camaro site before we bought the car.

Anybody know what the reverse looking D is to the lower left of the BE axle code stamping? |

No idea about the "D" Chad, but damage to the tube right at the assembly stamp is always concerning. That is a known date, but the "BE" is not great IMO.

The casting date isn't much better Bruce. Looking forward to seeing what's inside the rear end when JM comes to inspect the car, I haven't pulled the cover yet. |

The BE 0519 stamping on this axle compares favorably with two others I have in my database. Axles were moved with jib cranes; racked & de-racked several times while being transported from the Gear & Axle Plant to Norwood. I have 5 other axle stamp photos that show similar nicks and gouges in the same area.

I don't disagree Bill. I just didn't like the configuration of the "E". Also, didn't like how clean the stampings are after all of these years. Here are a couple of "E"s from the same date BE rears |

Chad, My Yenko BE also has the D stamped in the same area. It also has some practice B stamps above the leaf spring perch. I've seen similar beat up E's on BEs, the 519BE that turned up in a Nova a few years ago was almost identical to yours. Considering your car was never known as a Copo that is almost certainly your original BE. If Kandy needs more orange houndstooth I have a roll of the original fabric! Mark |
