I wish someone had the internal GM documentation showing why they ever built a handful of cars so late in the model year. If you think of the reality of production, there were a lot of engineering changes (Bills of material, etc) that had to happen to put this engine in a platform that was on it's way out of production. There were significant differences from the '66 Nova L79, and even the L79 used in other '67 Chevelles / Corvettes. You gotta wonder WHY, since they knew that the '68 Nova was going to be nothing like the '67.
Seems like a big mystery as to why this handful of cars was ever produced. |

I always Loved the ZI engine code and Block, so unique to the build. I had a customer that bought a Rat 1962 Corvette that had an original 1966 ZI 327 / 350 Chevy II engine in it and I was always amazed what GM did to install that in a Chevy II chassis (Recessed oil filter / front sump oil pan, ect) What an Engine! Do I see an error on the pop? P8H30.?. Does it have the original trans? Also does the car still have its original flywheel & starter?

"Motor" has a better "Ring" to it and just sounds better IMHO

Nice car. Would like to see it all back to correct/original. Hope you have the original hood.
I believe from the classic definitions, an engine can be a motor but a motor can't be an engine. Paul |

Bill & Paul -- good points ... but I like calling an engine a motor just to drive the purist up the wall and start a debate with them that they will wind up losing. TAZ

Seems like there should not be a Saginaw behind a '67 L79. The '68 L79 Chevy II/Nova came with a Muncie.
