From what I have read in the past,Don looked to save $,anyway he could.
Maybe Chevrolet wanted much more money then what MW quoted Don,so he bought em directly from MW instead,and they sent him already stamped AO date coded wheels,(inventory they had destined for Chevrolet),back in their own MW boxes?

He was paying kids to put stripes on,why not pay kids to install wheels too?
