Need a close up of the date code. I believe DOT date coding started in 1971. If it's DOT coded it will have a DOT stamp before the date code. Before that each manufacturer could do whatever they wanted to their tires including not date coding them at all. DOT coding brought in by the gov't since tires have a finite life even if they aren't mounted.
