Default Re: Original engines from supercars

One key to success of the BM program was selling off the takeout engines by Baldwin Chev. parts department. In fact, it was John Mahler the Baldwin Chev. parts manager who was instrumental in the early days of the program and helped to convince the dealership owners on the viability of the venture. Since there was a ready market for the 396-375 hp takeout engines, that made the BM program cost effective.

I've never heard of an original engine being reunited with a BM car. Most ended up in street / strip cars and I'm sure some are still floating around, but the VINs are not in the public domain. Since the 67 and 68 Yenko VINs are mostly known and posted online, it makes sense that some takeout engines have surfaced.
