Default Re: Horsepower for 69Z 302 w/#140 cam

Pulled the dist. I noticed it had too much vertical movement, shimmed it to .015 vertical movement which helped stabilize the timing, recurved the timing w/ the vacuum line plugged so it is mechanical advance only, as I have done since 1970, installed a stop bushing so it can advance 17 degrees,
it has 38 degrees total timing all in at 2700 rpm, and 21 degrees timing at idle ,this cam likes the 21 degrees at idle, really helped smooth it out.
It cranks over easily & starts up instantly
This thing is coming around, idling nice at 1000-1100, very crisp on throttle response,
Vacuum is low at 5in.at 1100rpm idle, but comes up to 14-15in at 1800rpm., at cruising speed it should be fine.
