Best keep in mind that matching numbers means just that, the #'s match. Sorry to say but in today's world, it has nothing to do with original engines...other than maybe trying to make someone think it does. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/rolleyes.gif[/img] Personally I always consider matching #'s or "restoration engine" type phrases = restamp unless 'born with' or something specifically stating in plain English that it is THE original engine. Same with trans, rear, distributor etc...#'s matching only means the same part/casting/stamping #'s but nothing more. That all said, even claims of originality mean little anyway until verified by a trusted source. The short form version of all this...guilty until proven innocent!
