Default Re: Bob McDorman

----I first met Bob in 1966. I took my 427/425 Corvette to his dealership to get the valves adjusted and have the car supertuned. Bill (who later joined the Rod Shop crew) did the work. Bobs dealership was still in its first location at that time but his new building was under construction. Bill (cant remember his last name) was racing a 425 Corvette roadster at the time and actually lent me slicks for me to try my car out. Bob always remembered my name and always was a very class act, and what a gearhead. Back in my Classic Motors era we built a 63 ZO6 non-tanker specificly for Bobs Corvette show which used to be a really BIG BIG deal. Two friends of mine from Coral Gables, Fla. also wanted to win the big award at McDormans that year and garnered a few more points than us, but we had a great time and were treated like gold!!!------RIP Bob. You will be missed......Bill S
