Default 68 Nova-Lower firewall body mount splash shields?

For my 68 Mova, looking at the body mount access hole lower firewall, passenger side has a tab with bolt holes, looks like there should be some type of splash shield that bolts there to cover the mount access hole.

Driver side has part of some shield, torn off, like the material used on inner fender wheel well shields.

Can't find any part number for that, maybe I'm calling it the wrong name?

Every Nova I have ever taken apart had nothing over the passenger side front sub-frame hole on firewall. On the drivers side I think it was a deflector of some sort for the e-brake cable.

Thanks Jason, funny thing is I remember when I a few years ago put in new body mount bushings I did remove something from the passenger side to access the hole. And there is a tab to the left of the access hole with two bolt holes and at the bottom of the access hole a welded in factory nut. I'm at a loss to remember though.

Yes, on the driver side the rubber type shield is gone except for a top section below the steering column that has staples just like the inner wheel well splash shields.

I would imagine the Camaro has the same setup. I try Google but maybe I just don't have the correct name of the part I'm looking for. Simple thing that drives me crazy. Thanks for your reply.

I just completely stripped a virgin, never screwed with 68 307 2 Dr car. It has the drivers side shield which is a metal bracket with the conveyor belt type rubber on it. It is mounted to the metal flange with two holes that extends forward at the body mount bracket. It extends to the outside of the body and has two holes in it to go around the emergency brake cable and the speedo cable. This one is in nice condition. There is not sign of a shield ever being on the passenger side.

69 camaro's had similar, from what I read was to keep road spray off wire harness connector above I got lucky and scored a good used one from a camaros.net mamber. I'd like to see pics on a nova one?

This is from my 69 granny car...it's not the best angle but if you blow it up and look close you can see the flap. I will try to find a better view.

I think the photos I am posting are of the shield in question.

This is off of my 68 Nova parts car yesterday. A photo of it on the car and a few photos after I media blasted it. I have seen these before and never found one on the passenger side ever. Two 5/16 X 1 bolts on the firewall and a clip that slides over a protrusion on the firewall as well.

The large bracket was dipped in black paint and the clip was bare or possibly plated. See staples holding the rubber shield. The rubber is the usual thin rubber with the threads showing, I believe it is the same oem material used for the inner fender A arm shields.
