I have a NOS one in the box and it is molded gray in color.
May depend on the supplier.

3919083 is cast into the bottom side of one (still new in box) I bought 10 or more years ago, along with a little clock and the number 72. Don't know exactly what the significance of all this is, but mine is gray in color also.
