Default 1960 corvette fuel injected aluminum head test car

In the summer of 1959 GM cast aluminum heads designated for there 1960 Fuel injected cars.
The heads where to save 53lbs and add 25hp to raise the 250hp hydraulic motor to 275 and the
solid lifter from 290hp to 315hp.
when the test cars where taking to the Proving grounds the heads where cracking and warping
and were scratched as a RPO from the Corvette available options.
Here one is the very first aluminum head v8 test car.Vin number 00002.
Serial number 00001 was not a aluminum head car,but was fuel injected and sold at Mecums
a few years back with buyers fee at over 300K.
This car is a project but has matching number CZ block,Aluminum heads,7017320 Fuel Injection
unit,crank and rods,oil pan etc.
All glass is date code correct as is radiator.
Two tops.
Needs complete restoration.
Im not gonna get to it at this late in my life,I would prefer a partial trade
(53 corvette,63 Split Windows,65 396/425hp,^& Corvettes,1967 Shelby or 68 GT500 or GT350)
may consider others?
will add pics as soon as i figure out how to?

WoW and welcome aboard Dave!
VIN # 00002 is cool itself but being the alloy head fuelie test car certainly puts it over the top, love to see/hear more of the car and story.
Good luck w/ the sale also congrats to whoever makes a deal for such an amazing piece of Chevrolet and Corvette history!

Wow...... What were the original exterior colors? Looks like interior was red?

Red I believe is interior color, since the car was only driven for 13years then parked.
Exterior I believe was white or silver.
Car was red, black and at least green.
Car was stripped of paint except door jambs and rain gutter inside trunk and hood
And the above listed colors are apparent in them areas and on vin tag.
Might have been raced being 5 or 6 colors in 13 years.
Car was found a couple hours from Rochester.
Nabors brothers and Pro team both believe it was also a Rochester Fuel Injection test car
And then sold to a employee as a Brass Hat type of car.
Inside kick panel area you can see where fuel injection emblems were, they have been glassed up.

To me this car being VIN #002 is very significant and worthy of your price all on it's own. But if I remember right Chevrolet did not start stamping VINS on the blocks until later in the 60s. So how can it be proven that this aluminum head fuel injection motor came from the factory in this Corvette?

There's not, other than it being date code correct and a original high horse car with
Oval opening in firewall for tach drive distributor.
Vins didn't appear in blocks until mid production

Nice car! I have one of those heads (with orange paint still on it), I wondered if they would have waited to test those until a 60 model run, as the 59 and 60 were essentially the same engine, same horsepower. I always had the feeling the other head in the pair failed that it was probably with.
