70 Camaro L78
I have a question on the 1970 L78 camaro, did the california made L78 have any identifier on the cowl tag such as L78, or were the Norwood L78 cars the only ones to have it on the cowl tags? If the original window sticker on the car is available would it say L78 or would it only say 375-HP, Turbo Jet 396-V8?

Re: 70 Camaro L78
would the protector plate and original window sticker stating that its a 375 HP V8 with the correct stamping on the motor indicate that it is a california L78 car

Re: 70 Camaro L78
The VIN will indicate where the car was built. "L" would be Van Nuys, CA plant and "N" would be Norwood, OH plant
Quite a few CA built cars have the buildsheet on top of the gas tank, so carefully drop the gas tank and you may get a nice surprise. |

Re: 70 Camaro L78
Ok I have the l the L in the vin, which is a good sign at this point. I will have to get back to you on the buildsheet on top of the tank. Thanks for the info.
If there is anyone who lives in the west des moines Iowa area and not to busy this weekend and could look at a car for me I would like to talk to you. Disregard the last statement, I have backed off the deal with this individual due to veracity issues. |
