Just wondering,are these "C" stamped rearend's 860 castings or are they 341's?
And when did the 860's end? Joe |

Joe,
341 casting from all of my research and pics of these rears 860 ended sometime in Aug of 69 - not saying there could be some in aug - sept, but most I have seen are in that time period.

That's what I was thinking.
I've had 3-4 of these over the years and figured that with the 1970 model change they were going to change to the 341's housing in the Camaro,and just used the 341's already slated for the "X" body's to get by. |

My 10E Camaro has I-29-9 cast date and it is the later 341 casting and is stamped CBV assembled Oct 10th.

Yes, casting date is "Eye" 29-9 September 29, 1969 and assembled October 10, 1969. 341 casting number and CBV coded (4.10) posi.
