We used to watch the test pattern in the morning while waiting for the stations to start broadcasting, and then again after the last program went off at night. Yep, them were thrilling times.

It simply said: &quot;Name the actors who portrayed Buzz Murdock and Todd Styles on Route 66?&quot;

Everyone seems to have overlooked &quot;Bandstand&quot;, as in American Bandstand. Bandstand info on wiki
One of our local stations carried it way earlier than 1957 but I can't seem to recall who the front man was. We even had a local version called &quot;Hoosier Favorite&quot; that was on on late Saturday afternoons, with dancing and records and local bands. It was a part of growing up in the 50's.
