Thanks, A friend of mine did the paint and body here in Vineland NJ... Sam at Bodys Unlimited...Plenty of blocking involved.
You got it! Tried to duplicate more of a round splat, and less of a stringy splatter, by spraying straight on (side motion adds more "string&quot but still end up with a little of both. I referenced 2 other Baltimore built Monte's and my 68 Norwood Camaro, none are the same. I'm very pleased with the results.

One more note;
I tried to spray with enough pressure to get it out of the gun without "atomizing" it too much. On my set-up that was @ 30 PSI. As well as cutting down on the "fan" of the spray pattern. I'm sure a bigger tip would have helped too. (1.8 used)

Guys, I think I finally have a good recipe for the trunk splatter paint. The dots seem to be about the correct size and pattern for a NOR built car. Here is a picture comparing where I am at and an original sample. Let me know what you think. I will take samples to the MCACN show tomorrow and compare with original cars. George

George:

Looks pretty darn good. I have been sidetracked and haven't gotten back to my trunk.

Take plenty of pics of the original cars when you compare, assuming the owners don't mind.

Thanks again for all your work on this.

I was talking to George about this at the show today and he mentioned that he did.

These examples you guys are sharing are great, and what the hobby is all about. I am working on a '69 Nova. Would the John Berlages trunk paint be appropriate for a Nova? Thanks

I can't comment on the Nova but Johns paint is very close to my Kansas built 70 Chevelle.
So I got some great pictures from two really nice unrestored Camaros at MCACN.
John Haislip's Silver Z very well preserved car,I used it to compare my sample. I got some interesting shots of the tail panel coverage also. The splatter looks aqua in some pictures because of lighting or flash but it actually more grey.George

These pictures are of Terry R's car, also very nice original car 69 SS/RS LeMans blue 396 loaded. These pictures show more details on where trunk paint was applied or not. Also notice the wire harness metal tab was folded up after the paint was applied, bare underneath. George
