A friend of mine has a 1961 corvette in his shop and is looking for an oil pain for a 1961 corvette 283. He bought GM OEM pan # 3974252 and said it not the right one I looked up that number and it comes up to a 70/74 small block

I did find the OEM part # for the 61 vette as a 359937 with a trap door does any one know where to get old OEM GM parts I did find one on ebay BUT 2,500.00 seems a bit much |

Looks like 359937 was the service pan, discontinued/superseded to the 252 pan?.

Not that they're available either but the original '61 part # appears to be 3769761 and the '62 part # 3789629...earlier #'s? Did you see this used one on eBay @ 399 BIN? Need repair and pics are poor but looks like the correct vertical ribs, does the inside pic show two ribs one one side? http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6#ht_1873wt_671 ~ Pete
