Default Re: Customer records dealer beating on his Camaro.

I traded-in my bought-new '04 WRX STi for a new '07 Odyssey for the wifey. I make the deal on the minivan and then mention my trade-in. Salesman says can he have the keys so he can go look at the car. I had a nasty head cold so I stayed at the desk and watched the big-screen. The salesman was gone for 45 minutes. After 20 I ask another clerk where my salesman went. Don't know. I go outside and my STi is not there! YGBFKM. Back he comes with a big smile on his face and he--stupidly--begins gushing about how fast my STi is! I hold my tongue and let him keep talking. "I took the shop mechanic [Honda dealership] for a drive in your car and we had it up to 110 on the freeway!" He actually said that to my face! Then it was my turn. In my best outraged customer voice I said WHAT? YOU TOOK MY CAR OUT WITHOUT MY PERMISSION AND WERE DRIVING IT OVER 100 MILES PER HOUR? You could have heard a pin drop in the showroom. Several other sales were underway and it was like a morgue when I exploded. WHERE IS THE SALES MANAGER? The sales manager quickly came out and shushed me and I kept right on it in my no-I'm-not-going-to-keep-it-down voice. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT HAPPENS WHEN HE CRASHES OVER 100 MILES PER HOUR AND POSSIBLY KILLS SOMEONE WHILE HOT-DOGGING IN MY CAR WITHOUT MY PERMISSION? Got the Odyssey for invoice and free oil changes for two years and a free ski rack and roof carrier. Went back the next week for the parts pick-up and they had fired the salesman. My simple response to the sales manager was, "Good."
