Default Re: 488 mile COPO Camaro

"specifically for the 1969 NHRA drag racing program. At the end of the season the consistent 10-second performer was retired to the back of the shop where it sat until the late 1980s, when it was resurrected with a complete frame-off restoration that included the original engine, a rarity among COPO cars, and many original parts that were removed prior to racing the car in 1969."

If the car was retired after one race season to the back of the shop, why would it need any restoration? It would be worth way more as the ultimate survivor COPO. Sounds a little fishy to me.
