The second owner and caretaker of this Corvette was Ralph Salyer. Ralph was a road racer with a very interesting history.

His exploits at Daytona coined the phrase "blow the doors off", when he piloted his Bill Thomas Cheetah to extreme triple digit speeds and the doors ripped off the car at speed. They had to be refastened and duct taped to keep them in place.
