Don't know.... But it sure is a cool car. I *think* that the buyer has a slot and has a significant market upcharge.

With GM only making 69 of them, I am sure that there will be several resold. Especially if they do require a license.

I guess technically you would be the second owner?

Chevrolet chose to offer just 69 units as an homage to the number of original “ZL-1&amp;#8243; COPO Camaros produced in 1969. Back then, the acronym Central Office Production Order was the way by which buyers could special-order high-performance variants of the company’s cars.

Today, Chevrolet has contracted an outside company to fairly determine which racing customers will receive a COPO Camaro. Selected customers will receive a letter with information on how to purchase and take delivery of their race car. The COPO cars will be delivered at the GM Performance Build Center in Michigan, where the customer can opt to participate in the build process.

The price tag for each Camaro starts at $89,000, and deliveries begin this summer.

Yes you do need an NHRA License to purchase the C.O.P.O. Camaro.
