Rainy day here and I just read through this entire thread. What a great story! I cannot imagine driving past a dealership in 1969, seeing this car and then realizing it was a 427 car--and then closing the deal that same morning! I would have vapor-locked the day I located the car after all these years and hoping to close the deal before something or someone scuttled it. Love the '67 427 Impala V emblems on the fenders.

The fender flags from Harrell's shop always caught the "other guys" off guard . . .
When questioned, "Just a V8" was my pat answer . . .

Took it for a short 'test drive' over the weekend . . .
Not a hint of vibration now - smooth as silk . . .
