Rainy day here and I just read through this entire thread. What a great story! I cannot imagine driving past a dealership in 1969, seeing this car and then realizing it was a 427 car--and then closing the deal that same morning! I would have vapor-locked the day I located the car after all these years and hoping to close the deal before something or someone scuttled it. Love the '67 427 Impala V emblems on the fenders.
