Supposedly one of them has already been resold by the auction buyer for more than the two-for-one auction price.

That was the ultimate "Buy One, Get One Free" sale of the century.

I don't know the conditions of the cars so perhaps it was a good buy but not as astounding as the numbers may indicate.

I am wondering how Mr. Torino is feeling today. All his cars were absolutely stolen out from under him. 72k for an FC7 71 6bbl 'Cuda - wow. My wife and I were watching it as it was slow to even get there and I said..."Ummm,...." She simply said "No way." she knew what i was thinking, had the phone in my hand

Ya, they couldve been a re-body.... Mustve been a GM crowd, nice job on the carpark deal though!

cheers Dave

They weren't rebodies. These were known cars. Like I said, I remember both of them from at least 25-30 years ago. They were both in really nice shape back then. I'll dig through the photo album and try to post some of the old photos form the archive.

I would say more astounding than the numbers would indicate.

As Des said, I feel bad for Brett Torino. Here were his cars that went across the block.

The Brett Torino Collection

Brett didn't do a good job promoting his collection from what I've heard.

That doesn't surprise me at all. What an amazing buy.

Here's that same 1970 Coronet R/T 6-pack four speed ragtop back in 1984 at the Northeast Hemi Owners' Association meet in Chicopee, Mass.
