I agree with Sam, I don't like vacuum advance either, I haven't used it since early 1970 with no problems at all,
as per the CRG report, I set my valves at .026 on intake & exhaust, runs and sounds great.
I use AC R 43 plugs gapped at .040. with the original heads.
