I think there were only so many hoods to go around and the Pace Cars and COPO's got them first I believe.

Only 11% of all 1969 Z-28s got the ZL-2 hood. So do the math? On the cars you see today! Benny

where can you find a percentage like that?

I understand there were only production totals of all OPTIONS, not combinations of options ...

ie :

10,026 ZL2 hoods for the 1969 model year

subtract 3,675 for all the Z11 pace cars

then subtract whatever number for Z10 pace cars

then subtract whatever number of COPO cars, L72, ZL1, as all of those got the hood

that leaves the number of SS & Z28 Camaros that could have opted for the hood option

1969
SS production: 34,932
Z28 production 20,302

I am not aware of any EXACT number or percentage of Z28's built with ZL-2 hoods (or any other combos), any numbers would only be a WAG based off percentage of the RPO's

That number depended on how many orders GM received for the cowl hoods.
