Default Re: Ebay sellers.... lets help each other out.

ok my turn ...

I sent a HEAVY item to western Canada several years ago (big block exhaust manifold).

I gave the buyer the USPS quote and he pissed back and said to send it Fed-Ex ground

I had an account so thought why not?

The slime KNEW he could ignore the customs and duty fees with Fed-ex and my account was charged back HIS fees ...

NEVER, EVER send ANYTHING out of the US with UPS or Fed-Ex on your account number

Do it with cash and walk into the store, there is no way for them to charge you back

Regarding shipping charges, some people think that is the only way they can make anything on their low priced parts ... IF the TOTAL cost is ok with me then I do it, if they are stupid they get nothing from me

We have been selling on ebay for ~ 12 years and find it best to be HONEST with the listing, point out the flaws you know, people will respect you for it. Try to gloss them over with fancy words then they hate you for it.

We use way more pictures than anyone else and TRY to pretend you are at a swap meet and picking up a part to look at in your hands ...

People that take a picture of an item from 50 feet away with their toes at the bottom of the photo and their kids plastic junk toys in the background are better off with no pictures IMHO

We USED to have to spend nearly an hour EVERY DAY at the post office to ship items, then we started using online postage and having the mailman pick the stuff up much easier. We still have to make a run to Fed-Ex but not as often as the USPS runs used to be.

Bottom line, like in life there are people that are different from you. Some people are just stupid and would box a heavy item without any thought ... others know what they are doing.

The last items I received packed by a moron were some seat tracks that were poking out of 3 sides of the box - he simply dropped the tracks into a large box and sent it ... unbelievable that they both made it ...

I agree ebay is only concerned with the buyers, they should realize that without the sellers there would be no buyers and that the SELLERS are the ONLY ones that make them money, the buyers do not pay anything to ebay ...
