It's pretty obvious that all auctions are crooked to varying degrees. Mecum may be the exception, heard good things and haven't dealt with them. RS and BJ owners and employees always make my skin crawl when I am in their immediate vicinity. I get the same sensation around politicians. Craig Jackson spouting off about ethics is priceless.

----Happened about 6 or 7 years ago. Some of the members here will remember the Autumn Gold 70 LS6 Chevelle I had there. Ill let others who saw the car that weekend comment on its quality.
----Several of us later found out that owners of cars long before ours on Friday had piggy-backed more cars onto ones they already had consigned. In other words, a consigner might have had Friday # 75. He then at a later date closer to the auction would call B/J and somehow squeeze three or more cars onto that same auction #, I.E. 75A, 75B, 75C, etc, etc. There were several of these "additions" that day. All the cars after these "extra" cars were therefore delayed by the amount of time taken to sell them. I just didnt know at the time what the letters meant! ----None of us harmed individuals were aware of this "ethical" practice that Im sure probably still goes on today. I figured at the time that I probably lost somewhere between 10 and twenty thousand due to this "ethical" practice!......Bill S |
